Use consistent measurements

Enter the room width and depth, then the item’s full outside width and depth, in centimeters. Keep the original specifications or measurement notes with the project so that you can check what each dimension describes.

Use the arithmetic as a first check

The result compares rectangular dimensions and orientations. It does not inspect the room, include doors or projections, establish circulation or approve an installation. Check the actual arrangement and any relevant product or professional requirements separately.

Keep the route and use in the plan

An item’s intended position, the space it uses in normal operation and its route into the room are different questions. Read the measurement guide, then collect unresolved points in a project brief before ordering or arranging work.
